DOE/EERE’s Building Technologies Office (BTO) is pleased to announce our intent to fill a position (General Engineer, GS-801-13) in our Building Energy Codes Program (BECP) in Washington D.C.
This general engineer/physical scientist position supports the BECP team, program manager and BTO Director by contributing to a variety of highly complex energy codes-related efficiency programs, projects and industry standards; participating in reviews and evaluations of training activities; providing technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders; assisting with legislative and regulatory developments/actions; and other high priority activities. We are looking for a candidate that will assist with program planning & implementation, strategy development and other activities that cut across BTO program while working with in-house federal staff, and an extensive network of hundreds of National Lab and other analysts, contractors and building energy codes stakeholders.
BTO will utilize DOE’s Direct Hire Authority to fill Scientific, Technical, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) positions at the GS-13 grade levels for General Engineers. This authority allows us to hire more quickly than the traditional government hiring process. In using this authority, DOE still abides by the Merit System Principles and all Federal and DOE regulations for hiring. Review General Engineers direct hire announcement for qualification requirements.
If you or someone you know is qualified and interested in this key position at the GS-13 level performing duties described above, you should send (or have them send) a resume to BTO at [email protected]. Remember to include the title of this email into the reply email. For the best opportunity for engagement during this recruitment phase, please send resumes and a cover note by July 19, 2021.
