Smart Buildings Center

Accelerating the adoption and commercialization of smart buildings technologies and practices through education and demonstration.

Smart Buildings CenterThe Smart Buildings Center Education ProgramĀ (SBCEP) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that believes the smarter use of technology and practices in the built environment, particularly as they relate to building operations and management, will enable a cleaner, healthier and more productive future. SBCEP seeks to establish thought leadership for smart technologies and practices within the built environment, and pursues its objective through the following pillars of activity: delivering training programs to educate the building workforce of the future; enabling industry leading demonstration projects; and connecting the industry through hosting and participating in smart buildings events.

Ā Our Space

The Smart Buildings Center (SBC) is a multi-functional energy efficiency headquarters on the first floor of the Pacific Tower in Seattle, Washington. The SBC serves anyone within the state with an interest in better understanding energy efficiency in commercial and institutional buildings. Our specific focus is showcasing where smart meets efficient.

Two conference rooms and a large flexible training and event spaceĀ can be reservedĀ for industry trainings, events, classroom-style lectures, large-scale exhibits and demonstrations, and/or flexible presentations.

Ā Tool Lending Library

OurĀ Tool Lending LibraryĀ loans a wide spectrum of diagnostic tools, including data loggers, multi-meters, flow measurement devices, and more (and training on how to use them).

Ā Events and Demonstrations

We have onsite demonstrations of the capabilities of analytical and visualization applications that can turn building performance data into actionable information for energy savings. At SBC we connect the building industry through hosting and participating inĀ eventsĀ and providing demonstrations throughout our space and in the real world.
