Building Potential Named Partner to USGBC Center for Green Schools in EPA Grant to Reduce Air Pollution at Schools in Low-Income, Disadvantaged, and Tribal Communities
Building Potential is excited to announce we will partner with the Center for Green Schools at USGBC on their National School Air Quality and Climate Action Network, aimed at accelerating the adoption of indoor air quality management and decarbonization plans at K-12 schools.
The project was awarded through the Environmental Protection Agency’s grant to address air pollution in schools. With approximately 115,000 schools representing over 8 billion gross square feet nationwide, schools play a crucial role in shaping community health and environmental impact.
“Understanding the challenges faced by K-12 schools, especially those in underserved communities, we are excited to collaborate with the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council. Their decade-long leadership in advocating and training for resilient, healthy, and low-emission K-12 schools, through expertise in standards development, research, advocacy, and professional development for district staff, positions them as invaluable partners.” Kerry Meade, Building Potential Executive Director
Building Potential is the national administrator of the Building Operator Certification program, which trains building operations, maintenance, engineering, and management staff on bringing commercial facilities to optimal efficiency, while improving occupant health and comfort, and reaching decarbonization goals.
