The NEEC Board of Directors has endorsed the incumbent Seattle Mayor, Mike McGinn, for re-election. McGinn faces a crowded primary field before a general election for the office in November of this year. NEEC recognizes the support that the industry has received during the Mayor’s first term and see his re-election as an opportunity to continue effective policies in support of energy efficiency. During McGinn’s first term he appointed NEEC Executive Director, Stan Price, to the Seattle City Light Review Panel. The Review Panel has worked closely with senior leadership at the utility to craft a comprehensive strategic plan for the utility which embeds the continuation of SCL’s energy efficiency efforts into the future. The Mayor has also appointed NEEC members to important advisory efforts on items ranging from his Green Ribbon Commission to technical committees working on the City’s Climate Action Plan.
