During the months of May and June, Seattle City Light conducted a round of information sharing and public input on issues for consideration in their developing six year strategic plan. Executives from the utility were joined by members of the Mayor and City Council appointed Review Panel in more than 8 separate input sessions (including a NEEC members-only webinar presented by Phil Leiber, CFO of City Light – see the NEEC website for a copy of the presentation). Seattle City Light is developing a strategic plan to guide that utility between 2013 and 2017. The plan is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year and submitted to the Mayor and then the City Council for adoption. Public input from each of the stakeholder and general public meetings has been summarized and posted on the web site dedicated to the SCL Review Committee, www.seattle.gov/citylightreviewpanel Common themes heard in this input process included strong support for an aggressive energy efficiency program at SCL.
