The Seattle City Council recently had its first hearing on a proposal to extend state requirements for commercial building owners to disclose their property’s Portfolio Manager energy performance score. New state law requires owners of non-residential facilities to disclose, after January 1, 2011, to prospective tenants, buyers, and lenders. The Seattle proposal would extend this requirement to multi-family residential properties and require owners to report scores to the City.
