The energy efficiency industry in California has recently created its own trade association patterned after successful non profits in the Northwest and Northeast.
The California Energy Efficiency Industry Association (www.efficiencycouncil.org) was founded this summer to represent the interests of the energy efficiency business community in California. The organization patterned itself after the Northwest and Northeast Energy Efficiency Councils. From the new Council’s web site the purpose of Efficiency Council is to have a strong efficiency industry voice before local and state policy makers and regulators; inform the industry of events, legislation and regulation that affect their businesses; provide networking and business development services; and connect members to national and other state/regional efficiency advocacy efforts and educational events.
The three energy efficiency industry councils are looking to cooperate on a number of federal issues. A co-sponsored webinar event on the American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES) of 2009 is in the planning stages. Look for a special announcement of this free event soon.
