On February 7, 2022, Puget Sound Energy (“PSE”) issued a Distributed Energy Resources Request for Proposals (“DER RFP”) in docket UE-210878, which seeks proposals from qualified respondents to supply a minimum of 129 MW of Clean Energy Transformation Act (“CETA”) eligible DERs to PSE. The issuance of the DER RFP follows the filing of a draft DER RFP on November 15, 2021 with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (“WUTC”), a subsequent public comment period and incorporation of stakeholder feedback into the final version, which was approved by the WUTC on January 27, 2022.
PSE’s goal for the 2022 DER RFP is to acquire a portfolio of DERs that meets the 2021 CEIP DER targets for 2025, while balancing cost, customer benefits, and a mix of customer participation structures. This DER RFP is in addition to the All-Source RFP PSE that was issued in June 2021. More information on the All-Source RFP and its current status can be found at www.pse.com/rfp or WUTC docket UE-210220.
PSE has posted the final DER RFP on its website at www.pse.com/rfp. If assistance is required in developing a proposal for the RFP, PSE has partnered with a third party to provide proposal templates and review materials, and those resources will be accessible in mid-February on the RFP website. More information about the DER RFP process and timeline will be provided as the process progresses. Questions about the 2022 DER RFP can be sent to [email protected].
