New alliance aims to help businesses become green

August 31, 2011 By NEEC

The Environmental Business Alliance of Tacoma-Pierce County has been formed to help businesses become green in two ways: by improving their environmental performance and increasing their profitability.

EBA is a partnership of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, Citizens for a Healthy Bay, Go Local and the City of Tacoma. The alliance provides businesses with access to resources and information about environmentally sustainable practices.

Major components include educating businesses about simple and effective ways to reduce impact on the environment and creating events and seminars that form connections between businesses and resources for sustainable practices. The partnership also will promote businesses that choose to participate in the alliance and reduce their environmental impact.

Membership is free. For more information, visit www.eb-alliance.org.
