Webinar: Expanding Opportunity through Energy Efficiency Jobs: Strategies to Ensure a More Resilient, Diverse Workforce, Oct 29th

October 22, 2020 By Building Potential staff

Date and time: Thursday, Octoberย 29, 1:00 – 2:00 PMย ET

Hispanic, Latinx people, Black people, and women are underrepresented in the energy efficiency workforce. Efficiency program administrators can play an important role in increasing access for these ย workers and students and prepare them for efficiency jobs. In this webinar ACEEE presents findings from a new report on inclusive energy efficiency workforce development programs from utilities and efficiency program administrators. For example, the report finds that several utilities have targeted efforts underway to deliver their energy efficiency programs with minority- and women-owned contractors.

Experts will join ACEEE staff to share best practices for economic inclusion and developing a diverse energy efficiency workforce. Staff from the New York Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) and District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) will share their firsthand experiences administering workforce development programs. Learn about these programs and how to design economic recovery efforts to support energy efficiency job access for disadvantaged workers.
