Discussions continue on whether and how to modify the BETC in the upcoming Oregon Legislature. As has been detailed in previous newsletters, the BETC has faced public and media scrutiny recently, primarily over its application to large scale renewable generation projects. NEEC retained the services of Strategies 360 a governmental relations firm to help the energy efficiency industry articulate the value that the energy efficiency component of the BETC brings to the citizens of the state. Draft legislation on this issue is expected very soon and NEEC will keep members informed on the potential effect of the proposed legislation and how they can get engaged in the legislative debate.
 The Northwest Energy Efficiency Council transitioned to the name Building Potential in 2024. The organization’s legal name remains the same and the Board of Directors and Staff have not changed. |
