Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn took up President Obama’s recent call for a “Better Building Challenge” (reducing energy use in the commercial buildings 20% by 2020) in his State of the City address on February 22nd. In his remarks to the city, the Mayor singled out NEEC member Optimum Energy as an example of the types of companies that would benefit from an expanding building energy retrofit market.  The Northwest Energy Efficiency Council transitioned to the name Building Potential in 2024. The organization’s legal name remains the same and the Board of Directors and Staff have not changed. |
