SBX Session Highlight: Grid-Interactive Efficient Buildings as a Utility Resource

July 9, 2024 By Building Potential staff

Rapidly reducing the carbon content of utility resources while maintaining resource adequacy and grid reliability is a challenge for electric utilities across the country. Programs for demand flexibility and particularly grid-interactive efficient buildings (GEBs) will be key to successfully integrating large amounts of renewable energy into the grid. This panel, featuring Albert Chiu (Pacific Gas & Electric Company), Jingjing Liu (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory), Mark Martinez (Southern California Edison), and Brittainy Pond (Puget Sound Energy), will discuss the efforts by a number of utility leaders across the United States in deploying demand flexibility/GEBs as a central strategy for their future.
