OPUC Approves Energy Trust Pay for Performance Pilot Program

March 4, 2014 By NEEC

The Oregon Public Utility Commission on Feb. 18th approved the Energy Trust of Oregon’s pay for performance (PfP) pilot program. After a period of public review and a general workshop, the Energy Trust submitted a slightly revised RFP document which the OPUC approved with submittal dates pending. The issuance of the RFP is expected shortly. For information on the OPUC Order which also contains the RFP language, visit http://apps.puc.state.or.us/orders/2014ords/14-056.pdf

This marks the second pilot program for this innovative approach to energy efficiency in the Northwest (Seattle City Light currently has a three building pilot underway.) NEEC has been a proponent of this type of program innovation and the advent of two Northwest pilots puts the region in a national leadership position for program innovations that may prove especially enticing to sections of the commercial and institutional market.
