News from Idaho

November 30, 2009 By Brittany Quigley

In late summer the Idaho Building Code Board approved the rule for adoption of the International body of codes including the International Energy Conservation Code. The Rule goes to the Idaho legislature for approval in January, 2010, and will become effective on January 1, 2011. All Idaho jurisdictions who adopt building codes are obligated to adopt the code package by the effective date.

The Governor’s Idaho Strategic Energy Alliance (ISEA) Energy Efficiency Task Force meets on December 14. During the meeting the Task Force will focus on development of energy efficiency programs for Idaho’s industrial sector. In September the first year energy efficiency and several other task force reports were posted to the ISEA web site at: www.energy.idaho.gov
