Energy Trust Rolls out Program for Moderate Income Home Dwellers

August 28, 2009 By Brittany Quigley

The Energy Trust of Oregon has recently rolled out a new program targeted at moderate income residences, Savings Within Reach.

The Savings Within Reach program is designed to help homeowners (renters can also participate with the approval of the property owner) access energy efficiency upgrades that they would otherwise have difficulty paying for. The program focuses of homeowners who don’t qualify for free low income weatherization services, but don’t have significant disposable income. The program works by paying some additional incentive beyond standard weatherization incentives to qualified contractors who perform the services. 19 contractors have been chosen statewide for approval to provide services in this program. For more information, visit www.energytrust.org/savingswithinreach.
