Energy Trust of Oregon Crosses the River

October 29, 2009 By Brittany Quigley

(Exerpt from Energy Trust October Newsletter)

Washington customers of NW Natural now have access to Energy Trust services, resources and cash incentives to help save energy and money.  Granted approval for the expansion by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, NW Natural has contracted with Energy Trust to serve customers for 12 months with a potential extension based on evaluation results.  As of October 1st, 2009, 65,000 residential and commercial customers in Clark, Kikitat and Skamania counties can participate with Energy Trust and receive cash incentives for installing select improvements such as insulation, gas heating equipment, gas water heaters and lodging and food service equipment.  The expansion will help NW Natural save an additional 97,500 to 130,000 therms of natural gas in its first year- enough to heat 180 homes.
