Business Sign-on Letter for Skills Training

May 24, 2022 By Building Potential staff

Business Leaders United is circulating a sign-on letter for businesses, industry groups, and business membership organizations calling for expanded Pell Grant eligibility to shorter-term education and training programs. Programs which are critical to an inclusive economic recovery from the pandemic.

The letter also asks for Congress to support the College Transparency Act (CTA). The CTA would provide earnings and employment data by major and allow students to make decisions about higher education with knowledge of the return on their investment of time and resources. This means students can better understand what industries are hiring and have in-demand jobs. This legislation is supported by the U.S Chamber of Commerce.

Join Business Leaders United by signing on to this letter, calling on Congress to help our nation’s businesses rapidly reskill and retrain their workforce by investing in shorter term education and skills training for jobs that are in high demand.

Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions about this letter or other opportunities to advocate for skills policies that meet the needs of business.
