Seattle Energy Benchmarking & Building Tune-Ups Deadlines

September 25, 2019 By Building Potential staff

Seattle’s Energy Benchmarking policy supports the City’s goals of reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from existing buildings. The Building Tune-Ups policy helps Seattle building owners identify smart, responsible ways to reduce energy and water costs.

The Seattle Energy Benchmarking enforcement deadline is October 1st. After October 1st, all non-compliant building owners that have failed to submit complete 2018 energy benchmarking reports will be issued Notice of Violations with assessed fines.

October 1st is also the Seattle Building Tune-Ups deadline for facilities with 100,000 to 199,999 square feet of nonresidential space. Warning letters will be issued to all non-compliant building owners that fail to submit complete tune-ups by the reporting deadline.

For more information, please visit The City of Seattle’s Energy Benchmarking and Building Tune-Ups websites.
