City of Seattle Benchmarking Program Fines Assessed Beginning November 15th

October 2, 2013 By NEEC

Warning letters will be sent to owners and managers of buildings 20,000 square feet and above missing 2012 energy performance reports, stating that fines will be assessed beginning November 15, 2013. Owners and managers affected by this ordinance can work with the Benchmarking Technical Support desk (email: [email protected], call: 206-727-8484) to bring buildings into compliance.

Earlier this summer, ENERGYSTAR released a new version of the Portfolio Manager tool – which owners are required to use to report energy consumption to the City of Seattle each year. The tool features a new user interface and an upgraded graphs and charts portal to better understand your buildings annual or monthly energy usage. New instructions are now available on the Portfolio Manager website and more specifically for City of Seattle customers at http://www.seattle.gov/environment/how-to-comply.htm

If you are interested in attending a free workshop to learn more about the new Portfolio Manager or how to comply with the City of Seattle Benchmarking ordinance, please register for one of the options below.
