Puget Sound Energy will be filing its proposed plan for conservation programs for electricity and natural gas as the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission on Dec. 1st. The WUTC requires such a plan for its review and approval prior to authorizing the utility’s energy efficiency program efforts for the coming year. PSE provided on overview of its Annual Conservation Plan to its Conservation Resource Advisory Group (CRAG) earlier this month (NEEC is a CRAG member). While the plan is very detailed, the summary of savings goals and budgets depict an increasingly aggressive conservation goal for the coming year. The following table provides data on anticipated 2010 accomplishments and 2011 goals.

In the face of unresolved issues related to decoupling (see story above), PSE should be commended for expanding its conservation goal in 2011.
