WA Dept of Commerce has posted a new Request for Information on Energy Funding Programs. See a briefing of the details below or click here to redirect to the Commerce website.
Clean energy programs
Are you seeking funding for clean energy projects or interested in contributing ideas on how the Washington State Department of Commerce designs its clean energy grant programs?
Please consider responding to this Request for Information (RFI). We are inviting input that will help shape the preliminary design of grant programs focused on:
- Building decarbonization
- Modernizing the electric grid
- Promoting innovation and solar energy deployment
- Enhancing community resilience
- Supporting low-income communities
- Accelerating transportation electrification
- Facilitating the siting and permitting of clean energy projects
We will offer additional feedback and engagement activities as specific funding opportunities are rolled out throughout this year and next.
Overview of funding opportunities
Drawing on new state and federal investments, Commerce will deploy a broad portfolio of programs to advance clean energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Programs will align with the 2021 State Energy Strategy and our state’s clean energy and environmental justice goals. We aim to design these programs in a way that advances a sustainable and resilient energy future, while benefiting vulnerable populations in overburdened communities.
