SUMMARY:Seattle City Light Pay for Performance Launch
DESCRIPTION:The Deep Retrofit Pay for Performance (P4P) program has been designed to enable customers to achieve energy efficiency through incentive payments\, which are made over time and based on energy savings measured at the electric meter. This differs from the standard approach of offering an upfront incentive payment based on the estimated energy savings from an energy conservation measure. \nSince savings are measured at the meter in P4P\, savings can come from building retrofits and equipment upgrades\, as well as behavioral\, operational and maintenance (O&M)\, and retro-commissioning activities. Participants receive a set incentive rate for energy savings achieved over the course of a defined performance period (either three or five years). Incentive payments are made at the end of each year of the performance period. \nPlease join Seattle City Light at the Smart Buildings Center\, Seattle (Wednesday\, October 31\, 2018 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM)\, to learn more about the new Deep Retrofit Pay for Performance Program. You’ll learn about how the program works\, how your business can benefit from participating\, and what you need to get started! \nJoin us in person (Limited Availability) or sign up to follow the event\, broadcast as a webinar. \nIf you have a project that you would like to have considered for Pay for Performance\, please contact an Energy Advisor at 206-684-3800 for the first steps to get started.

SUMMARY:2015 WSEC – Commercial Air Barrier Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Building air leakage can significantly impact the energy performance of a building through envelope heat loss and higher fan energy to maintain building pressurization. The Northwest Energy Efficiency Council is offering a workshop in October 2018 about the commercial air barrier requirements in the 2015 WSEC. This 3-hour training will provide information about air barrier installation and building enclosure testing. \nClick here for the event flyer. \nThis training is FREE thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. ICC Preferred Provider CEUs are available. Pre-registration is required. \nCommercial Air Barrier & Building Enclosure Testing Workshop \nDATE: Wednesday October 17th\, 2018\nLOCATION: SMART BUILDINGS CENTER\,\nFirst Floor Training & Event Space\nADDRESS: 1200 12th Ave South\, Seattle WA 98144\nTIME: 9:00AM – Noon\nREGISTRATION: https://neecwsec.webconnex.com/AirBarrier.SBC.Oct2018

SUMMARY:Why Smart Buildings?
DESCRIPTION:The Edge building in Amsterdam is elected to be one of the smartest and greenest buildings in the world.  “From the minute you wake up\, you’re connected.  The app checks your schedule and…finds you a desk.  Because at The Edge\, you don’t have one.  No one does.”  – (Full Bloomberg article and video here.).    That is just the beginning of the amazing and sophisticated technology you can find at The Edge\, where Erik Ubels\, Chief Technology Officer at OVG Real Estate and former CIO for Deloitte\, was responsible for the development of this quintessential model of a smart building. \nJoin us at the Smart Buildings Center as we welcome Erik Ubels to our inaugural Executive Forum “Why Smart Buildings?”.  Erik will share his experience in the development of The Edge and how the IoT infrastructure within the building empowers a more productive workforce.  There will be opportunities for Q&A and we will also host a local panel with unique perspectives on smart in the PNW.  Seats are limited\, register today! \n

SUMMARY:Energy Benchmarking 201: Update your account\, understand your score\, and take action
DESCRIPTION:The City of Seattle offers this free workshop for participants that have previously benchmarked their commercial and multi-family properties.  This hands-on session will teach you how to make annual updates to your building’s energy performance using the free on-line tool ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager. Participants will also learn tips to make their energy score as accurate as possible\, learn how to use the data to track their energy performance overtime to reduce costs. Please bring your Portfolio Manager username and password. \nParticipants will also be introduced to the “beyond benchmarking” with a viewing of tools\, resources\, and utility incentive programs that can help them achieve energy savings.
