SUMMARY:Energy/Facilities Connections Conference
DESCRIPTION:May 8-10\, 2018 marks the 14th year of the Annual Energy/Facilities Connections Conference.  With an eye toward the future of facilities leadership\, it’s fitting that the theme for this year’s event is A Seat at the Table – Strategizing for Facilities Success\, which speaks to the need for taking collaborative efforts and identifying resources that can work together to solve complex challenges. \nAttendees can expect something a little different at EFC than most other conferences\, with intensive training presented in a variety of ways including hands-on interactive and structured networking.  There is something for everyone at EFC 2018.  Join us May 8-10\, 2018 in the beatific Leavenworth\, Washington for invaluable learning and leadership connections.

SUMMARY:Energy Efficiency Trends in the Cannabis Industry
DESCRIPTION:The rapidly expanding cannabis industry is a significant source of load growth in several states that have legalized recreational use. This load growth coupled with inefficient incumbent technology make the cannabis industry ripe with efficiency potential. However\, there are a host of technological and social barriers to unlocking this potential. This presentation will provide an overview of the energy using systems\, energy analysis techniques\, and energy efficiency technologies related to cannabis grow operations. \nA remote webinar option is available for interested parties who are unable to attend the training in person. \nPresenter: Kevin Campbell \nAs an Account Manager for Energy 350\, Kevin has worked with numerous cannabis growers throughout Oregon to evaluate energy efficiency potential and help them reduce their operating costs. However\, his work is not limited to cannabis projects. He has experience working on energy projects throughout the industrial and commercial sectors. Kevin has a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Portland State University. \nFor those attending remotely\, please see below for webinar information \nWebinar Link \nDial in Number: +1 (646) 749-3122 \nAccess code: 314-199-133

SUMMARY:ShiftBuilding Symposium on High Performance Mechanical Systems
DESCRIPTION:Do your clients want to breath clean air in their buildings? Are they interested in saving money on their utilities?ShiftBuilding brings mechanical systems and construction professionals together to share and learn new applications that heat\, clean air\, and warm water more efficiently than ever before. Learn what these systems are doing to the building market today and where to find them at this symposium. \nFeatured speakers Shawn Oram and Skander Spies present AIA accredited Professional Development Hour sessions and workshop tracks with industry representatives will connect you with information about products for performance construction. Hear case studies from these experts and connect with UW students graduating into the mechanical engineering field. The event begins with a networking lunch with trade associations and additional partners. Not to be missed\, get the scoop on the future of green building May 30. \nThe Venue: UW-Bothell has a steadily growing Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Mathematics program. The event will be at Mobius Hall\, adjacent to the UW Bothell Campus Campus. Readily available from downtown Seattle by public transit (ST 522). The event will be in the afternoon from 12:30-5:30 p.m.
