SUMMARY:ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager 101 Training
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to benchmark your building’s energy performance using the free online tool ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to support compliance with the City of Seattle’s annual benchmarking and reporting requirement. Participants will learn about the benchmarking process and local utility services available to auto-upload energy consumption data from Seattle City Light\, Puget Sound Energy and Enwave. Workshop participants will create an account in Portfolio Manager and begin the initial energy performance rating for their building with guidance from an experienced benchmarking instructor complimented by individual support from the help desk technical assistant. Participants are encouraged to bring data from their own building to the session. A data collection sheet will be emailed to you prior to the workshop. Sample building data will be available for participants who do not bring their own data.

SUMMARY:Building Renewal and the Spark Tool - Assess Your Building's Potential
DESCRIPTION:Join BetterBricks and AIA Portland to learn about the building renewal strategy and how to use the Spark Tool to assess if your building is ready for a deep energy retrofit.\nThis in-person training will focus on how to leverage Spark’s integrated technical and financial reports to communicate the business case for building renewal projects. The training will include an overview of the building renewal strategy\, a live demonstration of the Spark Tool\, and a look at the customized integrated measure packages the Tool can create. \nSPARK\nSpark\, a free\, interactive online tool\, can help you determine if your commercial building is a good candidate for a deep energy retrofit. This early assessment tool produces a report with estimated energy savings and real estate returns\, and suggested measures and next steps. Watch this short video to learn how Spark can reposition a building. \nBUILDING RENEWAL\nBuilding renewal is a real estate strategy to modernize a building and improve its competitive position by focusing on comprehensive energy efficiency upgrades resulting in 35% or more of a building’s energy use and costs. \nEARN AIA CEUs & BUILDING OPERATOR CERTIFCATION® (BOC) POINTs\nThis Spark training provides 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for AIA and 1 maintenance point towards renewal of the BOC® credential. \nCONTACT\nJohnathon Fata johnathonfata@waypointbuilding.com \n  \n

SUMMARY:Know the Code: Understanding Building Code Compliance Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Know the Code: Understanding Building Code Compliance \nEvery year\, new technology\, research\, and regulations drive changes in building code requirements.  These changes create an environment where it can be difficult to keep specifications up to date. That’s why it’s crucial to know in advance what future evolutions are in store for building codes. \nJoin Eric Makela\, from Cadmus\, and John Elverum\, from Johns Manville\, for their live webinar\, Know the Code: Understanding Building Code Compliance\, on Tuesday\, December 12th at 2:00 PM ET. These two industry experts will address evolving building codes and what we can expect to see in the next few years. \nIn addition to discussing upcoming building code evolutions\, Eric and John will also discuss the following topics: \nPitfalls that can drive your specification out of code\nProperly interpreting building codes when specifying insulation\nDriving forces behind code evolutions\nCertificate of Completion*\nThe webinar will conclude with a live Q&A where you can submit your questions directly to our co-hosts. \nAll attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion that may be submitted for Professional Development Hours (PDH) credits*.

SUMMARY:Northwest Demand Response + Energy Storage Summit
DESCRIPTION:The First Focused Event on Demand Response and Energy Storage in the Northwest. \nDemand response (DR) and energy storage are two interrelated pillars for building a more flexible and resilient electric grid and optimal energy resource mix for the Pacific Northwest. Join us as we chart the way. Radical changes in energy sources\, distribution and usage are surging through the electrical infrastructure of the Northwest. For example\, the Northwest Power and Conservation Council’s Seventh Power Plan has recommended that at least 600 megawatts of DR should be developed to meet the region’s peaking and system adequacy needs. Similarly\, utilities\, C&I companies and consumers are beginning to deploy energy storage systems (and considering options at scale) that will impact system-wide demand\, reliability and efficiency. To help advance these important trends\, Smart Grid Northwest is hosting the Northwest Demand Response & Energy Storage Summit. Join leaders at regional utilities\, and those working with them\, who are exploring and implementing DR and energy storage options.
